Funding from the Carbon Trust & ESCO
They say there’s no such thing as a free lunch but this is the real deal. The UK’s Carbon Trust are so convinced of the imop’s
energy-saving capabilities it already qualifies for installation under their interest-free loan scheme. It’s all part of the Government’s commitment to reducing greenhouse gases under the Kyoto/Burden Sharing Agreement and the Climate Change Act 2008, where companies are being encouraged to take immediate action or ultimately face financial penalties.
Is my company eligible?
In broad terms, the Carbon Trust allows most small to medium-sized companies and some larger firms to obtain unsecured, interest-free loans for the supply and installation of imop products. Eligibility of large firms extends to those that do not fall under the Carbon Reduction Commitment, typically those that spend less than £500,000 per year on electricity.
Loans are available from £3,000 up to a maximum of £100,000, repayable over a period of up to four years.
The unsecured loan that can pay for itself
The Carbon Trust’s 0% business loans are engineered in such a way that the energy savings achieved cover the repayments. In other words, the loans effectively pay for themselves. Furthermore, the initial cost of installation is generally recouped within two years.
How the scheme works
The process of securing an interest-free Carbon Trust loan is surprisingly easy, and imop distributors are authorised to help you every step of the way.
Step 1: The client contacts an imop distributor for an evaluation of his or her company requirements.
Step 2: After evaluation, the imop distributor produces a quote to supply those requirements.
Step 3: After acceptance of the quote by the client, the imop distributor completes an application form for the Carbon Trust.
Step 4: Once the application form has been issued, it takes just two days for the Carbon Trust to give verbal approval.
ESCO projects
Businesses that are not eligible for the Carbon Trust scheme may find alternative investment funding through an ESCO. These Energy Service Companies or ESCOs offer to reduce a business’s utility costs, often with these savings being split with the client.
