How to buy an imop

Commercial, industrial and public sector

Purchasing an imop is a relatively simple process that can be broken down into clear, distinct stages. From the first point of contact when you are looking to find ways to reduce your electricity bill and make carbon savings, it is our job to gather information about your business to make this a reality.

Stage one

The type of information we will request from you is a description of your business, the approximate number and size of motors on site and their running time. The more information we are given, the easier it is for us to make accurate predictions of the available savings. We would also like to see a copy of your electricity bill in order to establish your KWh charges, KVA carbon levy and any other relevant details.

Stage two

We would make a site visit to carry out a full, non-intrusive motor survey. This is in order to gather as much information as possible about your electrical infrastructure and to ascertain any relevant details. This is best undertaken in the presence of a client representative.

Stage three

At a mutually convenient date, a second site visit is arranged. Trained technicians carry out a sizing procedure on each of the motors using a patented diagnostic sizing kit. In just a few minutes, this determines exactly what is required to optimise each inductive load to maximum capacitance. A power analyser is used to demonstrate the effect the imop has on the motor, including amp savings, power factor increase, KVA and KW reduction. Instantly, the client will be able to see the benefits and savings motor by motor. The information is recorded and downloaded to a computer in order to produce a detailed report.

Stage four

A quotation is supplied to the client for the provision and installation of the imop. It will include a detailed report showing ‘before’ and ‘after’ readings on each motor, a schedule of savings and the predicted return on investment.

Stage five

Once the client has placed an order, imops are installed by qualified electricians. An O & M manual will be supplied. The product comes with a five-year warranty and the installation has a guaranteed return on investment of under three years.

The imop can be purchased through our network of distributors throughout the UK, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and beyond. Contact minimise direct and we will arrange for a local distributor to contact you.

THE GLOBAL ENERGY CHALLENGE:
FACE THE FACTS

  • Electrical supply costs will increase.
  • Businesses will be penalised for inefficient equipment.
  • Carbon emission charges are already in place and likely to become increasingly harsh in the not-too-distant future.
  • Companies are facing pressure to demonstrate their green credentials.
  • Demonstrating that a company has taken steps to reduce its carbon footprint and energy consumption will be critical — not only in financial overheads but also in business PR.

OUR GREEN CREDENTIALS

Our energy-saving claims have been independently verified by the European Union’s Environmental Technologies Verification scheme

YOUR GUARANTEE

We are able to identify energy savings following our sizing survey and guarantee a return on investment of less than three years. Actually, our findings have shown that the return on investment is usually two years or less.

Power savings are immediate. In industrial environments, savings vary from 6% to an impressive 25%. In commercial applications, expected savings are between 6% and 17%.
